About Matthew Dugdale

Matthew is experienced in litigation, employment law, landlord & tenant, and business and commercial law.

Matthew was originally from Tonbridge, West Kent before moving to the Medway Towns to live a few years ago. After attending a local Secondary Modern he did an apprenticeship in carpentry with a Tonbridge building company. He worked as a sub contractor for a number of years but in the early 1990’s he decided to retrain as a lawyer.

Matthew attended the University of Greenwich on a law degree and graduated in 1997. Matthew studied as a barrister and was “called to the Bar” in 1999. At this time Matthew decided that his particular attributes would be better suited to dealing with clients on a day to day basis and he converted to be a solicitor being admitted to the Role of Solicitors in 2001.

Matthew practised initially for a firm in Tunbridge Wells before moving to a firm in Chatham in 2005. As Matthew was not always a lawyer he is able to consider the practical aspects of any matter and to consider the implications of any steps that are taken both on the situation and what it means to the client.

Matthew is able to put complicated legal concepts in understandable language and which clients have commented upon has helped them to understand what may be involved in their matter.
